Leaf Bug Frame

$85.00

Add a unique natural specimen to your home with this male leaf bug (Phyllium pulchrifolium). It is sustainably sourced and mounted on a solid black velvet background that highlights its distinct leaf-like camouflage. The display is set in an oval vintage gold frame equipped with both a hanging hook and an easel back, giving you the flexibility to hang it on a wall or stand it on a shelf.

Fun Facts: While the females are large, wide, and entirely flightless, the males are much thinner, have long functional wings, and are excellent flyers. They use this agility to travel through the rainforest canopy at night in search of mates, perfectly blending in with the surrounding foliage during the day by rocking back and forth to mimic a leaf shaking in the wind.

Please note: This piece features an upcycled, thrifted frame. Minor imperfections on the frame or glass may be present due to age and character. All pieces are carefully cleaned and repaired while preserving their vintage character.

Disclaimer : This specimen was sustainably sourced and passed naturally. Each specimen may not be in perfect condition due to the life it lived. Learn more about how specimens are sourced by clicking here

Care Instructions : Please be mindful that nature art is organic and fragile. Specimen should be kept out of direct sunlight or any room that may have increased humidity and be sure to handle with care.
